On April 25th, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake shook Nepal and left a devastating trail. We soon found out that the earthquake had hit close to home impacting our partner, Avionte Staffing Software, whom have nearly 40 team members in the area of Kathmandu.

As soon as we heard the news, we knew we needed to do something to help our partner and those in Nepal.

Over three days, the Award Staffing team came together and raised money for the Avionte Hope Foundation (AHF) and their efforts in Nepal.

On May 5th, we were very excited to present a check for $4000 to Avionte & their team!  The funds we raised will be used for relief efforts that will directly assist in meeting the basic needs of food, water, clothing, shelter and medical care for those that are suffering in Nepal.

On Friday, April 4th, our Account Manager, Greg Leja  welcomed his first child, Jaymeson Gregory to the world. Jaymeson was born at 1:35pm at 7lbs. 2oz. and 20″ long!

On Monday, April 14th, our Account Manager, Brandon welcomed his second healthy baby boy, Austin Ray, to his family!  Austin joined the world at 12:32am at 20.5″ long and 6lbs. 15oz.

We are all so excited to meet these future Award Staffing Account Managers!

Announcing Award Professional Services & Award Retail Services

Cynthia Cook Clerical announced that it became Award Professional Services on Feb. 4th.

 

As you may already know, in March of 2012, Cynthia Cook Clerical became part of the Award Staffing family.  In the almost two years since, we have worked to bring the two companies together to provide comprehensive workforce solutions for all of our clients.  We are pleased to announce that effective February 3rd, 2014 we took the next step in our evolution and Cynthia Cook Clerical has become Award Staffing‘s Professional Services division.  

Our goal is simple – to become the very best provider of workforce solutions in Minnesota.  Going forward, all administrative, accounting, customer service, hospitality and professional staffing will be handled by Award Professional Services (APS).  Our united vision ensures that we:

Award Retail

The Merchandising Team, a division of Cynthia Cook Clerical, became Award Retail Services on Feb. 4th, 2014.

All industrial positions will be supported by Award Commercial Services.  The Merchandising Team, a division of Cynthia Cook Clerical that provides national merchandising support is becoming Award Retail Services.

This is a very exciting time for our company.   We pride ourselves in the quality attention and services Cynthia Cook Clerical has provided our clients over the past 25 years and will continue to provide you the exceptional service you have come to expect from us.

Meet Top Talent, Michael N.

Michael N. came into our office last summer very discouraged and skeptical about applying with another staffing agency. He spent many years polishing his carpentry skills and had really wanted to get back into that field.  His past experience with staffing agencies left him feeling like no one really listened to him or even took a look at his skill sets, but just threw him into positions that didn’t seem to align well with him.  One day, his friend referred him to Award Staffing, but even with such a strong referral he was very hesitant about coming in.  Michael came into our office last August and he met with one of our staffing coordinators. The coordinator asked him questions about his career goals and concerns and really spent the time to locate the perfect assignment for him with the information he provided Award Staffing.  He had finally felt like someone cared to listen to what he was interested in for his future.  Within in a week Michael received a call from a coordinator offering him a position in a lumber yard for the summer.  He cheerfully accepted the position and he was excited that he would be able to start using some of the skills he spent so many years learning.

As the summer came to an end Michael started to hear some of the other employees start to talk about lay-offs. He began to get concerned reached out to Award Staffing.  Award Staffing assured him that if lay-offs were coming that they would work diligently to find him another assignment.  A couple more months passed and some employees were in fact laid off, but due to Michael’s great work ethic the client decided to keep him on as a temporary employee until they had hired him on permanently in December. He was so excited about being hired by this company that he immediately contacted his staffing coordinator.  Michael thanked her by explaining he had such a great experience with Award Staffing and would be referring and recommending more friends to use Award Staffing.
