Finance Manager/Controller – 1st Shift

About the Opportunity:
• Job Title: Finance Manager/Controller
• Pay Rate Range: $80,000.00-$120,000.00/salary
• Location: Cokato, MN
• Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 7AM-4PM
• Position Type: Direct Hire

Requirements and Qualifications:
• 5+ years in accounting, controller, or finance management roles.
• Strong understanding of:
o P&L.
o Balance sheet.
o Cash flow.
o Job costing.
o Budgeting
• Experience in:
o Manufacturing.
o Project-based business.
o Construction/fabrication/custom production environments.
o Excel/spreadsheet capability.
o ERP / QuickBooks Online experience.
o Ability to identify financial inconsistencies and reporting errors.
• Preferred Experience:
o Manufacturing ERP experience.
o QuickBooks experience.
o Experience building KPI dashboards.
o Budgeting and forecasting experience.
o Experience improving financial processes or automation.
o Experience working with external CPA firms.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Finance Manager / Controller to lead the company’s day-to-day financial operations while improving financial visibility, reporting, and operational decision support.
• This role is ideal for someone who is strong operationally, detail-oriented, and capable of growing into higher-level financial leadership over time. The position will work closely with ownership, operations, and an external CPA/fractional CFO partner.
• This is not a pure bookkeeping role. We are looking for someone who can help build a scalable financial operating system for a growing manufacturing business.
• Core Responsibilities:
o Financial Operations.
o Own monthly close process and financial reporting.
o Maintain accurate P&L, balance sheet, and cash reporting.
o Manage AR/AP oversight and cash flow visibility.
o Oversee job costing and profitability reporting.
o Maintain financial accuracy across ERP/accounting systems.
o Coordinate with payroll and tax providers.
• Reporting & Analysis:
o Prepare monthly leadership financial package.
o Analyze.
o Gross margin %.
o Overhead %.
o Net margin %.
o Budget vs actual.
o Cash position.
o Current ratio.
o Loan/debt balances.
o Assist with forecasting and KPI reporting.
o Identify trends, inconsistencies, and margin leakage.
• Systems & Process Improvement:
o Improve automation and reduce manual financial workflows.
o Support ERP/inventory/process discipline.
o Help create scalable financial processes and reporting structures.
o Improve visibility between operations and finance.
• Leadership Support:
o Support ownership with financial visibility and decision-making.
o Assist with ROI and purchasing evaluations.
o Participate in leadership meetings.
o Coordinate with external CPA/fractional CFO resources.
