FORKLIFT JOBS

A forklift driver job traditionally exists in construction sites, factories, storage yards, and warehouses. Individuals who work Forklift Jobs in Minneapolis-St. Paul and Metro Areas are responsible for operating and handling industrial trucks to load and unload deliveries and materials and transfer them to and from storage areas, machines, and loading docks, into trucks or storage facilities.

The ideal candidate for a Forklift job will have a valid certification and will be able to drive and operate a forklift in a variety of conditions and environments. A forklift operator will also be responsible for moving large quantities of inventory and keeping track of their placement.

WHAT DOES A FORKLIFT DRIVER DO?

Warehouse forklift operators work on shipping and receiving docks or for industrial companies, factories, construction sites, and supply warehouses. A Forklift Driver typically works 8 to 12 hours per day. More times then not, forklift jobs have opportunities for both daytime and overnight shifts. These workers should be mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented individuals who can work with little supervision as needed.

COMMON FORKLIFT DRIVER JOB SKILLS

While a forklift drivers’ day-to-day duties and responsibilities are determined by where they work, there are many similar responsibilities associated with the role, these include:

–

· Obtains a copy of production schedules or shipping orders and transports materials to and from designated areas in the facility
· Loading and unloading products from vehicles such as trucks

· Moving products packed on pallets around a warehouse
· Stacking products in the correct area that follow inventory control instructions
· Checking loads are secured properly

· Stacking empty pallets
· Performing daily equipment checks and maintenance
· Examining products to ensure they meet quality standards
