Machine Repair Technician – 1st Shift

About the Opportunity:
• Job Title: Machine Repair Technician
• Pay Rate: $42.24/hr
• Location: Golden Valley, MN
• Schedule: 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6AM-2:30PM - Overtime is required as needed (additional O/T on afternoons and weekends).
• Position Type: Temporary (8-12 weeks starting in June)

Requirements and Qualifications:
• Works with shop mathematics, handbook formulas, blueprints, and a wide variety of measuring instruments.
• Have completed a Machine Repair Apprenticeship OR ALL of the following:
o Coursework in Fluid Power Technology (for example hydraulics, pneumatics) AND 2 years of repair experience OR 4 years directly applicable experience in Fluid Power Technology
o Coursework in Machine Trades (for example lathe, vertical milling machine) AND 2 years of repair experience OR 4 years directly applicable experience in Machine Trades
o Coursework in Pump/Pressure Machines (for example vacuum pump, fluid pump, compressed air) AND 2 years of repair experience OR 4 years directly applicable experience in Pump/Pressure Machines
• Coursework in Industrial Repair of automated equipment and robotics AND 2 years of repair experience OR 4 years directly applicable experience in Industrial Repair of automated equipment and robotics.
• Embrace and engage in the Companies Operating System including activities, but not limited to Safety & Behavioral Observation Process (BOP), 5S, Continuous Improvement (Kaizen), Tiered Accountability Process, Standard Work, Rapid Problem Solving (RPS), Built In Quality (BIQ), Coaching, Total productive Maintenance (TPM) and Knowledge Sharing.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Tear down, rebuild and adjust any type of machine regardless of make or model, use a variety of machine tools.
• Adapt standard machines to special purposes.
• Diversified work to tear down, rebuild and adjust any type of machine regardless of make or model.
• Scrape ways and bearings, line levels and adjust machine, use a variety of machine tools.
• Considerable judgment necessary to adapt standard machines to special purposes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and maintain workmanship standards in order to maintain efficiency or accuracy of machine tools.
• Orders supplies as required.
• Report trouble to Supervisor for analysis and remedy.
• Light physical effort in performance of duties.
• Occasional heavy lifting of moving parts or equipment.
• Exposed to varying degrees of dust, dirt, noise, etc. making job somewhat disagreeable.
